The first you should do is get your site listed with the top search engines but do not waste too much time trying to get the number one position you have other work to do that will bring a more steady traffic flow search engines are always changing by the time you figure out how to reach the number one position in all of them you have to start allover again this could be a never ending battle,get them in make sure they are there and go promote your page with something like reciprocal links you will get more hits from a link that is placed on someone else's site than in all the search engines put together.so remember what always seems the best is not necessarily the best thing to spend all your time on look around at all the other websites, you see links,banners etc... no one relies totally on searchengines for their traffic.

You become a member of a mailing list by sending a simple 'subscribe' Email message to the list.
